Introduction

SCOReD is a series of highly successful Asia Pacific Regional Conference focusing on students at higher learning institutions in Electrical Engineering and related fields. The inaugural conference was successfully organized in 2001 by UTM. This was followed by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM),Universiti Putra Malaysia,Universiti Teknologi MARA and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002,2003,2006 and 2007,respectively .The 6th Student Conference on Research and Development is organized by the IEEE UTM Student Branch , Faculty of Electrical Engineering,Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.It will provide a unique platform for the students and researchers; to share their experience and view their latest research and breakthroughs. It is created upon the ideas to promote Asia Pacific as the centre of Electrical and Electronics excellence in this region and to promote the research and development activities among students and researchers. In accordance with the theme “Engineering and Research Excellence Culture”, various inspiring research work carried out by students and researchers will be center-staged in SCOReD 2008.

Objective

The conference aims to provide students, academia, engineers, researchers, and industries the opportunity to explore recent developments, current practices and future trends in Computing, Communication, Control, RF and Microwaves, Electronics, Lasers, Engineering Education, Power and Energy, and Women in Engineering. It is hoped that the conference will provide a unique platform for discussing issues and development along with establishing international relationship and exchanging ideas among the delegates.

Participations

All 2008 graduates, postgraduates (PG), undergraduates (UG), academicians, researchers, engineers and managers from Institute of Higher Learnings, research institutions, utility companies and various industries are welcome to participate.
