4th Keynote Speaker Prof. Dr. Gordon Airey He is a Professor of Pavement Engineering Materials in the School of Civil Engineering, Director of External Affairs and Deputy Director of the Nottingham Transportation Engineering Centre (NTEC), University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He is expert in pavement engineering, particularly the rheological properties of bituminous binders and asphalt mixtures, the durability and mechanical performance of asphalt mixtures and the use of polymer and crumb rubber modified bituminous materials.

5th Keynote Speaker Professor Dato’ Dr. Ibrahim Komoo Professor Dato’ Dr. Ibrahim Komoo is the Vice Chancellor at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. He was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.His research specialisations include Engineering Geology, Earth Heritage Conservation and Sustainability Science and Governance. He currently sits on the National Heritage Council, MARDI Science Council, Advisory Council of the Langkawi Geopark, Chair of the National Geological Heritage Registration Committee, Chair of both the Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Task Force and Natural Hazards Committee at the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Through his work on the conservation of geological resources, he serves as the Chairman of the Geological Heritage of Malaysia and sits as an expert in the Expert Group of the Global Network of National Geoparks and Geoparks Bureau, part of the International Advisory Group of Experts on UNESCO Geoparks. He has been awarded fellowships with the Institute of Geology, Malaysia (FIGM), and Academy Sciences, Malaysia (FASc).

6th Keynote Speaker Professor Miroslaw J. Skibniewski Prof. Dr. Miroslaw J. Skibniewski is the A. James Clark Endowed Chair Professor of Construction Engineering and Project Management in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland in College Park. Prior to his current appointment he served for 20 years as a faculty member at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he held a position of Professor of Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management. He received his M.Eng. degree from Warsaw University of Technology, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University. Prof. Skibniewski is also a graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education Management Development Program. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the industry as an engineer with the Pittsburgh Testing Laboratory, a nationwide construction engineering consulting firm in Pennsylvania subsequently renamed to Professional Service Industries, Inc. - where he was in engaged in design quality reviews, construction related claims, value engineering, forensic engineering and industrial safety investigations. |

7th Keynote Speaker Professor Dr. Muhd. Zaimi Abd Majid Professor Dr.Muhd. Zaimiis the Dean of Construction Research Alliance, UniversitiTeknologi Malaysia. His area of expertise is in construction management and his vast experience in this field was accumulated from his early career as an engineer in the industrial sector and also from the academic training he obtained at Masters and PhD level. Professor Dr.Muhd. Zaimi has written more than 70 technical papers and his work have been published in many international journals. With regard to this achievement he was given the assurance to referee more than 10 international journals including five for AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Journal of the United Kingdom. Besides publication, he has successfully supervised many postgraduates pursuing their PhD and masters degree. Professor Dr.Muhd. Zaimi’s success in the field of research and education has been recognized internationally and due to this he was appointed as board members in several international organizations. He serves in the scientific Committee for several international conferences such as in Dubai (2006) and Rotterdam (2005). |
