“Insights from Social Informatics on Research and Innovation in Information Systems"

 

Peter B. Seddon is a professor in the Department of Computing and Information Systems at The University of Melbourne, Australia. His major research interests are in the areas of evaluating information systems success, packaged enterprise application software, IT management, IT outsourcing, business intelligence, IS research methodology, and accounting information systems. He was a Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly from 2005-2008, and Program Co-Chair for PACIS 2011. He has a Google-Scholar H-index of 24, and over 1,000 citations to his most cited paper (on DeLone and McLean). Recent publications include a paper on factors affecting benefits from enterprise systems in MIS Quarterly in 2010, a paper on Enterprise Architecture in Communications of AIS in 2011, and a paper on Generalization in IS Research in the European Journal of Information Systems in 2012.  His current research grants are on the topics of competing on business analytics and testing a model of strategic IT decision making.

 

Dr. Darshana Sedera

“Social Informatics (SI): Research prospect in IS discipline”

 

 

Dr.Sedera leads the Enterprise Systems research at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia, where he leads 10+ researchers on the following topics; (i) Enterprise Computing, (ii) Software development outsourcing and (iii) Ubiquitous Enterprise Systems. He has co-authored over 80 refereed conference and journal papers and book chapters, including at the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, and Information and Management. His work on re-conceptualizing System Evaluations has received much academic endorsement. In 2012, he led a successful Australian Research Council Discovery Grant with Ephraim McLean of Georgia State University.Dr.Sederaalso maintains a strong presence with the industry and practice. Over the years, he has conducted several consulting and training on Enterprise Systems, specifically focussing on SAP Enterprise System.
