DATO’ SRI PETER CHIN FAH KUI
“Moving towards Green Technology”

He is currently the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia.  In 2004, he was appointed to the Cabinet of Malaysia as the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities. Prior to his full ministerial appointment, his previous posts were Deputy Minister of Housing & Local Government and Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.  He also had been the Member of Parliament of Miri, Sarawak in Malaysia since 1985 and is currently the party organising secretary of the Sarawak United People’s Party.

Fuels Technology Manager
Shell Global Solutions, Asia Pacific Service Centre, Kuala Lumpur

"Challenges of Future Mobility"

Eric serves as the Fuels Technology Manager Asia/Pacific and Middle East for Shell Global Solutions and is based in the Kuala Lumpur. Shell Global Solutions provides “complete solutions” in technology and management areas to the various Shell businesses worldwide. Eric joined Shell in 1989 in Hamburg, Germany as a Product Development Engineer after having worked in the automotive industry on diesel engine development. From 1992 he worked on lubricant development in Shell’s research centre in Grand Couronne, France. In the 90es he was also involved in F1 fuels and lubricant development. 

From 1995 to 2001 Eric worked in various functions leading Shell’s product testing activities for fuels and lubricants in Hamburg, ultimately leading the three departments for engine, emission and road testing.  In 2001 Eric took up the role of managing director of Shell Research Eastern in Singapore and as Fuels Technology Manager for the region.  In 2004 he moved to Shell’s Asia Pacific Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur to lead the regional Fuel Technology Group.  Eric has done numerous publications on the subject of future and alternative fuels.  He holds a master degree in Automotive Engineering from Hamburg University of Applied Science.

PROF. DR. RICARDO MARTINEZ BOTAS
“Advanced in Green Technology – Boosting needs for Downsize Low Carbon Engines”

Dr. Ricardo had been a Reader in Turbomachinery, Department of Mechanical Engineering,
Imperial College London since 1994. He is also currently the Head of the Sustainable Energy Research Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He graduated with an MEng (Hons) Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London and obtained a DPhil from Oxford University (St John's College) in 1993 with thesis on Annular Cascade Aerodynamics and Heat Transfer.

His current research is in the Significant contributions to the field of unsteady aerodynamics applied to turbocharger turbines, automotive air management strategies, hybrid/electric vehicle modeling, experimental fluid mechanics and heat transfer (film cooling, impingement and tip cooling) and fuel cell fluid dynamic modeling and performance assessment.

ASSOC. PROF. DR ISHAK BIN ARIS
“COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS DIRECT INJECTION VEHICLE: COLLABORATION BETWEEN MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITIES, MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRIES”

Dr. Ishak bin Aris is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia and was the Deputy Director of the Institute of Advanced Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (2007-2010). He graduated from the George Washington University, USA, in Electrical Engineering (1988). He obtained MSc in Power Electronics Engineering from University of Bradford/ Loughborough University of Technology, United Kingdom (1991) and PhD from University of Bradford, United Kingdom (1995).

His area of research interest is in Electrical Engineering that includes Robotic System, Automotive System, Power Electronic System, Avionics and Artificial Intelligence. He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching electrical and electronics engineering courses, developing electrical engineering laboratory, developing curriculum for Electrical and Electronic Engineering Program. He is actively involved in professional societies. Currently, he is the Chairman of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International Malaysia Section (2009-2011), He has also served as the Deputy Chairman of SAE International Malaysia (2007-2008). He has received UPM’s Excellent Service Award two times (2001 and 2003).

He has also received UPM’s Excellent Service Certificate seven times. In 2002, he has won Dean Special Award and Vice Chancellor Fellowship Award 2002 (Excellent in Research). He has also won Outstanding Researcher Awards both at university and National level many times.

DATUK IR. DR. HAJI AHMAD ZAIDEE BIN LAIDIN
“GREEN TECHNOLOGY IN GLOBAL WARMING”

He was appointed as a Board Member of Audit and Nomination Committees and is an Independent Director.  He had served in the National Electricity Board since 1967 and became its Director of Management Services and Development in 1998 and Deputy General Manager, Corporate Services from 1990 to 1993.  He was made a Director of ITM in 1994 and became its first Rector in 1996.  He was appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of UiTM in 1999.  He is also a Board Member of Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad.
