Sr Dr. Megat Mohamed Ghazali Bin Megat Abd. Rahman

Sr. Dr. Megat Mohd. Ghazali is a Director, Office of Development and Human Resource, UTMSPACE, a Fellow of Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, as well as a Member of an Institution of Surveyors, and Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents. He obtained his PhD in Property Development from Loughborough University of Technology, England. His professional experience includes as a Research Fellow in Institute Sultan Iskandar of Urban Habitat and Highrise, UTM. On top of that, he is also a consultant to a private property development and valuation firm specialising in property valuation, property development and feasibility studies besides being actively involved in sharing his professional expertise, vision and wisdom in seminars, regional workshops, and international conferences in providing innovative solutions and strategic advice for challenges related to the property industry.


Mr. Victor Lim

Practicing Registered Valuer & Chartered Valuation Surveyor, Malaysia
Victor Lim is the Managing Director of the Chartwell Group Malaysia, a firm of Chartered Valuation Surveyors, Registered Valuers, Registered Estate Agents and International Property Consultants. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Estate Management from the University South Bank, United Kingdom and a Diploma in Business Studies from London, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; Institute of Revenue, Rating and Valuation, United Kingdom; Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and Institute of Commercial Management, United Kingdom. With an interest in academics, Victor pioneered the approval of Diploma in Property Asset Management and BSC (Hons) in Real Estate by the Malaysian Board of Valuers for a Malaysian private university, Binary University in 2013. He is also a seasoned lecturer in the area of property valuation practice and estate agency for MIM-IMS Management School part of the INTI International Education Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    Datuk Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri b Abdul Hamid is a Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia Chief Executive who is fully responsible for the leadership and management of all CIDB functions and activities. He is also a fellow of Institution of Engineers, Malaysia, (IEM) and Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and a Member of Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as well as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). As the President of the Professional Services Development Corporation (PSDC), he was responsible for the capacity building of the professional services sector to face the challenges of liberalization and promoting the sector in the global market. He obtained his Master of Business Administration, MBA from Open University, United Kingdom.

  • Dr. Sopon Pornchokchai

    Real Estate Research & Valuation, Bangkok, Thailand
    Dr.Sopon is the president of FIABCI Thai, the Thai Appraisal and Estate Agents Foundation and the Agency for Real Estate Affairs, IAAO representative to Thailand, Director of Thai Real Estate Business School, and a member of the Global Valuation Forum of the Appraisal Foundation (USA).He gained a PhD in land and housing from AIT and had further property valuation training from LRTI-Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and housing from KU Leuven (Belgium). He also had experience in real estate research and valuation since 1982. His research master pieces include the discovery of 1,020 slums in 1985 and CAMA (computer-assisted mass appraisal) modelling from 1995 to 1998.

  • Ms. Serena Lau

    Registered Professional Surveyor & Chartered Valuation Surveyor, Hong Kong
    Sr Lau is a Fellow, Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (FHKIS since 2003, MHKIS since 1993), Member, Royal Institutionof CharteredSurveyors (MRICSsince2008), Associate, Australian Property Institute (AAPI since 1992), Registered Professional Surveyor (GP Division), HKSAR since 1994, Registered PRC Real Estate Appraiser, PRC since 2001. She is also past president of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (2011-2012). Sr Lau currently is the Independent Non-Executive Director of China Merchants Land Asset Management Co., Limited, who is the Manager of China Merchants Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust. She also member of Youth Development Commission, Advisory Committee and Chinese Medicine Development Fund, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Executive Committee, Hong Kong Housing Society and Director of Board of the Urban Renewal Fund.

  • Mr. Joseph Lee

    Certified Practicing Valuer & Chartered Valuation Surveyor, Melbourne, Australia
    Joseph is an Associate Member of the Australian Property Institute, a Certified Practising Valuer and a Licensed Estate Agent. He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Property (Distinction). He has served as an expert witness for various Courts in multiple dispute litigation cases. Prior to his property-related career. Joseph held positions that included Sales Engineer, Sales Manager(Projects), General Manager, Executive Director and Managing Director for circa 12 ½ years in Malaysia and 6 ½ years in Australia. These positions were in organisations (that included multi-national and public-listed companies) involved in manufacturing, trading, import-export, distribution and retail services. Topics that he will be sharing are Market Uncertainty, Model Uncertainty and Input Uncertainty. Also case study on the Valuation of an AUD80,000,000 Mixed Use Apartment Building in Melbourne during this times of Significant Market Uncertainty, includes: Expectations of the Lender, Expectations of the Borrower (Developer) and Valuer’s Professional Opinion of Value.
